compLexity and NRG are the first teams to book spots at the Americas Minor via the North American qualifier after winning three matches in a row.
The first three rounds of the Swiss stage saw a handful of upsets, led by Immortals being on the verge of elimination after losing to SoaR. The PGL Major Krakow runners-up then bounced back with victories over CLG Academy and Splyce, and will fight for a spot at the Minor in the final round of the Swiss stage, featuring teams with a 2-1 record.
Complexity became the first team to qualify for the Americas Minor after defeating Rise Nation 16-10 in the third Swiss round. Prior to that match, Alec "Slemmy" White's men had defeated FRENCH CANADIANS and Tempo Storm.
FugLy's NRG qualify for Americas Minor
NRG were the second team to secure a perfect 3-0 record in the qualifier. The North American team, who are currently trying out Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce, moved past Beacon, Gale Force and Luminosity to ensure a second straight appearance at a Minor.
ESL Pro League side Ghost were denied a spot at the Minor after just two matches as they were downed by Tempo Storm and Rogue, while Sean "seang@res" Gares's Misfits were standing on the edge of a cliff but live to fight another day after overcoming a whopping 11-0 deficit against Tempo Storm.
